Experience Having a career background covering 50 years of varied experience mainly in the power sector and covering a wide range from manufacture of hydroelectric equipment to project development of modern thermal power plants for Independent Power Generators. Mr. Warnock’s professional activities are mainly in the hydropower field. He advises developers of small hydropower projects encouraged by current renewable energy initiatives. In addition recent assignments have covered consideration of a 900MW hydropower plant in British Columbia and reviews of the project to save the city and Lagoon of Venice from high water effects. In recent years Mr. Warnock has been substantially involved in Nepal where he established a Nepal/UK company, Power Development (Nepal) Pvt Ltd to participate in the liberalised programme for private sector undertakings of small/medium hydropower plants. Through this activity he has had close involvement with the process if licensing, power sale contracting, government authorisations, environmental assessment, approval and contracting arrangements. Other Activities His published works include papers and contributions to books on Project Management, Risk Analysis, Hydraulic Turbine Technology, Tidal Power, Financing of Power Projects and, most recently, the Safeguarding of the Lagoon and City of Venice.
