He has provided independent consultancy and project management services to a wide range of public sector clients in Ireland and the UK. Customers included the Irish Local Government Computer Services Board, the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service. He was the lead Scottish Executive professional on the UK national project executive for the Public Safety Radio Communications Project, responsible for the management of the strategy, technical standards and implementation of the next generation of digital mobile communications for the UK Emergency Services. This work resulted in the award of a £2B+ Private Finance outsourcing contract to a consortium led by BT, to provide and operate a national network, based on the TETRA radio standard.
