Sliding Doors for an Industrial Radiography Chamber
A mating pair of sliding doors was provided for an industrial radiography chamber. Tight construction tolerances were required to keep radiation leakage within safe levels. At the same time, being in a busy industrial environment, heavy usage of the doors was expected.
Each door is 5800H x 3100W x 1300D, weighs 65 tonnes and runs on a twin track roller assembly, each roller being individually mounted on Plummer blocks. The doors are individually operated by hydraulic rams, the paths of the doors being controlled by guides top and bottom.
All rollers, guides and hydraulic rams are robustly sized and designed for ease of maintenance and replacement.
