The station is a 680MWe power station located in England. It basically comprises two 9F frame sized gas turbines, two Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and a steam turbine.

During and after the erection of the HRSG's a dispute arose between the supplier and its erection contractor.

A senior member of Cadogans staff was appointed as expert witness for the contractor in anticipation of arbitration. Specific areas which were investigated were as follows.

  • Welding of casing and pipework
  • Transportation of heat exchanger modules
  • Pressure testing
  • Non-destructive testing and heat treatment
  • Construction drawings
  • Pipework installation
  • Contractual role of the parties (MF/1 contract)

The issues were considered and analysed. Meetings were held with client, solicitor, counsel and other advisors. Evidential reports were prepared. The dispute settled before the hearing took place.
