Waste Heat Boiler Safety Equipment

TYPE OF PROJECT
- Mechanical/Process
- Environmental
Outline of Project
The owner of a clinical waste incinerator was prosecuted by a local authority for releasing untreated gases into the atmosphere while testing the safety equipment on the incinerator's waste heat boiler.
A senior member of Cadogan Consultant's staff was appointed as one of the expert witnesses for the defendant. At issue in the case was whether proper testing of the safety equipment on the boiler was preferable to the release of untreated emissions. The work included consideration of the design and operation of the incinerator, steam boiler and their associated equipment and controls. Reports were written and submitted to a County Court.
The judge ruled the plaintiff's expert was not qualified to give the type of evidence he sought to and dismissed the action.
