Experience

Mr. O’Britis has over 30 years experience encompassing both public and private sectors. He has a broad based experience of technical and practical aspects of civil / structural / geotechnical engineering. He has had extensive experience on major projects both in UK and overseas in assessment, design, construction and rehabilitation works.

He has recent experience includes Project Manager for the structural, roads and drainage design of new secondary schools (£40m) for South Lanarkshire Council, a new two storey extension (£2.0m) for SELECT in Midlothian and a new extension (£1.6m) at Glasgow Cathcart Police Station for Strathclyde Police.

Mr O’Britis recently successfully arbitrated in a dispute between a Client and a separate design office run by his employer regarding the supply of design information and site work supervision for projects of value £40m.

He has also recent experience in preparing desktop studies, ground / mineral / environmental investigations, providing roads / services / buildings designs for new housing developments for both public housing associations and private developers.

As an Engineering Practice Leader / Assistant Engineering Manager in Renfrewshire Council’s Investment and Technical Services Department he was responsible for Team Management / Contract Administration of varied projects / contracts including low rise and high rise housing repairs, rot works, CDM Regulations and DDA Engineering Coordinator, Advisor on abnormal ground conditions, Section 87 and 99 notices. In 2002 he received an award from the National Home Improvement Council for his report on Fuel Poverty. The following year he was awarded a Quality Service Award from Renfrewshire Council.

In addition to the above Mr O’Britis had several years experience as a Bridge Design Engineer and was Senior Structural Site Engineer for the construction of Sapele New Port, Nigeria.
